Project: Airylite Typeface
Technique: Experimental Typography

Year: 2018

Software: Adobe Illustrator
Inspired by isometric grid, Airylite is a lightweight, angular, spatial, outline-style experimental typeface. It contains 26 letters in all caps. It was originally purely self initiated. By simply connecting each line to each other, a letter is formed.

Airylite has a minimalist look that brings out the feeling of clarity. Clarity means clearness. Clean water running down a mountain has clarity. So does a child’s heart: it’s clear and pure. To me, being a kid at heart is one of the best things in the world. When you are a kid, even the smallest thing makes you happy but as you grow up everything changes. At some moment, I was feeling so broken, but my inner child wasn’t ready to give up on me. She reminded me how it’s never too late to start over. I spent most of the time exploring the depths of my curiosity while creating Airylite but the most important is I find meaningful time to heal, learn and grow throughout this journey.
